He was born in Buenos Aires on November 27, 1964 and has lived in Esperanza, Santa Fe province since 1977.
He started with photography in 1985. Pure film and black and white. What began as a hobby gradually became his means of expression and his livelihood.
He entered the professional world of photography in 1986, taking photos of social events. He worked in photojournalism for several newspapers in the city of Esperanza and as a correspondent for the newspaper "El Litoral" in the city of Santa Fe for 11 years.
He began teaching photography courses at the Fernando Paillet Photo Club (where he later became president) in 1988 until 1991, and then he began teaching courses for the Secretariat of Culture of the Municipality of Esperanza from 1993 until 1998.
In 2003, he founded the LUX CAPERE School of Photography (which later became a Higher Institute accredited by the Ministry of Education). There, in addition to photography courses, a Higher Technical Degree in Photography was offered, a tertiary-level program with an official title and national validity.
He taught courses endorsed by the "Triángulo Color" laboratory in the city of Rosario from 2005 to 2009.
In 2018, the Lux Capere phase ended, giving way to trips giving workshops and lectures that became increasingly frequent.
He is the creator of the "Photography Workshop" chair at the National University of the Littoral in 2010, of which he was the head for 8 years.
Advertising photography brought a new challenge in '94 and since then it has gone hand in hand with everything related to this type of photography.
He participated in many national photography competitions and exhibitions, winning some of them. He traveled, researched, and applied many techniques to his photographs, realizing over time that the secret lies in the handling of light, and that's what he teaches.
For over nine years, he has been regularly traveling throughout the Americas and Spain, giving photography workshops and lectures. He has already visited more than 15 countries, where he has conducted nearly 300 workshops and given over 200 talks at conferences and congresses.
His platform, "My Virtual Classroom," has recently been launched at www.gustavopomarfotografia.online, where he has uploaded a wealth of educational content. It's a place where you can learn photography from a different perspective and without interruption.
About three years ago he decided that all the vision he developed in photography should be condensed into a book, which led him to write "BREAKING THE SECRET OF PHOTOGRAPHY" which is available in print and ebook versions.
