In this video I'll tell you what CREATIVE USES OF FLASH are

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE:

This course will allow you to learn about and control your hot shoe flash. You'll discover the versatility of hot shoe flashes, from small home productions to high-level professional work.
You will learn to use it in manual mode, calculating guide numbers and thus achieving a precise and quick exposure.
You'll also see different techniques for using the hot shoe flash to create amazing images.

METHODOLOGY

TWO MODALITIES: In person at the same studio where we will give the theory and practice.
Online from the comfort of your home, but without participating in the practices, you will be able to ask questions and access the workshop notes.

DURATION: One day, Sunday, August 10th, from 9am to 6pm.

Digital notes are provided in PDF format.

SYLLABUS, what we are going to learn.

Let's learn about the fundamental parts of your hot shoe flash.

The different modes. The guide number and all its correlations.

You will also learn all about flash speed and HSS mode on some flashes.

We will also look at the technique of:

  • Flash bounced off the ceiling and the wall.

  • Painted with flash.

  • Slow flash, still and in motion.

  • Repeating or stroboscopic flash.

  • Front curtain vs. rear curtain.

  • Off-camera flash, how to put together your lighting setup.

How do I sign up?

You can reserve your spot with a $ 15.00 deposit for the in-person workshop and pay the remaining balance 48 hours before the workshop. For online workshops, payment is in full. If you pay during the pre-sale period, that price will be applied to your remaining balance.

What equipment should I bring to the workshop?
For the practical exercise, you will need your camera and hot-shoe flash. A lens, preferably a short telephoto lens (it can be a fixed lens like 70mm, 85mm, 105mm or a zoom lens like: 70-200mm, 70-300mm, 24-105mm, etc.).
